NORTH BAY, ON - A new season and a new chapter begin tonight as the Sudbury Lady Wolves travel to North Bay for their first exhibition game of the 2026–27 season.

The Wolves will open their six-game exhibition schedule against a familiar Northern Ontario rival, the North Bay Jr. Lakers. While the rivalry remains the same, Sudbury will bring a much different-looking lineup into tonight’s matchup.

Only eight of the Wolves’ 17 players are returning from last season: Avery Mininni, Joely Angus, Ryann Chevrier, Leah Salo, Lia Gallo, Ryan Snow, Hannah Adler and Trinity Cheechoo.

Last Season’s Series

Sudbury and North Bay met five times during the 2025–26 season, with the Wolves winning three of the five matchups.

November 17: North Bay 3, Sudbury 1

December 18: North Bay 3, Sudbury 1

January 4: Sudbury 3, North Bay 1

January 5: Sudbury 3, North Bay 2

January 15: Sudbury 2, North Bay 0

North Bay claimed the opening two meetings by identical 3–1 scores. However, the Wolves responded in the new year by winning three consecutive games to close out the season series.

The five games were decided by a combined score of 10–9 in Sudbury’s favour, highlighting how closely matched the two Northern rivals were throughout the season.

Tonight will provide the first look at a new Wolves lineup as the next chapter of the Sudbury–North Bay rivalry gets underway.

Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at the brand new North Bay Community & Recreation Centre.
